This is a large Happy Buddha Statue (also known as Ho Tai or the Laughing Buddha) and depicts one of the most popular images from Buddhist iconography. This statue is 8 Inches Tall by 7 Inches Wide by 7 Inches deep. But despite the name Happy Buddha, this is not a statue of the Buddha at all.
indeed, the Happy Buddha was a saint in China who was known for being very pragmatic about the spread of Buddhism in the countryside; as a monk, he would often bring presents and candies to children in the different neighborhoods where he would preach, so that the chldren at least would hang around and learn something about the Dharma (even if they were just in it for the candies and toys).
Over the years, Ho Tai was elevated to sainthood and his image became associated with happiness and abundance. Only in the West, which is very ignorant of Buddhism, do people think of him as "The Buddha," which is somewaht similar to confusing Santa Clause with Jesus of Nazareth.
