This sandstone statue depicts a Chinese Buddhist monk collecting alms (donations). Similar to the Shaolin style of monks, this image depicts a monk with prayer beads and "Kung Fu" shoes. This is often the image that most people think of when they think "Buddhist Monks." This statue includes the blackwooden base that is about 3 inches high seen in the photo.
These sand stone statues make great garden statues, as they can be used both indoors and outdoors, and will look great either way. We think the warm, clay-colored material would look especially nice against the green colors of a lush garden.
These statues measure about 7 inches tall by 8 inches wide by about 6 inches deep.
