Your Price: $175.00

Five Headed Ganesh Statues from india: This is a bronze statue of Lord Ganesh, the elephant headed God of Wisdom and Success. He is believed to oversee auspicious beginnings and can remove obstacles. His elephant head is a symbol of his immense wisdom. This statue of one of the most popular deities in Hinduism is made in India of cast brass. In this statue, Ganesh is seen standing on top of his mount, a bandicoot. Because Ganesh is the God of Overcoming Obstacles, he brings his (usually small) rodent companion with him. That way, if he comes up against a wall that he can't knock down or scale, then his bandicoot can slip through the cracks or burry underneath. Working together, they are successful one way or another.

The five heads of this statue signify Ganesha's ability to look for all possibilities for success. Four of the heads look in the fourdirections, while the fifth head looks inward toward the soul. Also, in Indian mythology, the nuber five is important. This is sometimes attributed to the fact that there are fives senses for humans (sight, touch, hearing, taste and smell).

Ganesh is one of the sons of Siva / Shiva, who is believed to be king of the snakes. Hence in this statue, Ganesha has a serpent around his torso. It is believed he broke off the right tusk and used it to inscribe the Mahabarata, one of the major Hindu religious works.

As the God of Success, his image is to be worshipped before any other gods during Hindu rituals. Many devotees will say a little prayer to Ganesha before beginning even the smallest tasks, such as writing a letter to a friend or starting a bus or train trip.
