Our second most popular stone Buddha statue is the Antique Finish 13 Inch Sandstone Buddha. Made in Indonesia, this stone Buddha has serene features that convey the calmness of the Buddha nature, and would be a great Garden Buddha. This Buddha statue has a patina applied to it that gives the statue an appearance similar to an antique statue (even though this is a new statue).
You might already know that all Buddha statues have a meaning, which is identifiable from the pose of the Buddha statue, and is derived from a story of the Buddha's life. The meaning of this statue is "Calling the Earth to Witness" - also known as the "Earth toughing Pose" - and is a depiction of the Buddha at the time of enlightenment, when the Buddha called the Earth Mother to witness that learning the path to enlightenment was for the benefit all beings, and not just for the Buddha.
This Buddha Statue is good for both indoor and outdoor settings. It is a little big (being 13 inches tall) and fairly heavy (weighing 25 pounds) so you will need to put the statue on a sturdy altar table or setting.
