Made in Indonesia, this stone Buddha has serene features that convey the calmness of the Buddha nature, and would be a great Garden Buddha. This Buddha statue has a patina applied to it that gives the statue an appearance similar to an antique statue (even though this is a new statue).
You might already know that all Buddha statues have a meaning, which is identifiable from the pose of the Buddha statue, and is derived from a story of the Buddha's life. The meaning of this statue is "Calling the Earth to Witness" - also known as the "Earth toughing Pose" - and is a depiction of the Buddha at the time of enlightenment, when the Buddha called the Earth Mother to witness that learning the path to enlightenment was for the benefit all beings, and not just for the Buddha.
