This 12-hour long Benefit Concert and Summer Solstice Celebration
features world fusion rhythm and dance from an eclectic blend of
artists from the Bay Area and beyond. Expect performances of dance
and music all day long, face painting, auction at 8 PM, a bake sale,
and food. The event is a benefit for Liza Matlack(a longtime bay area
dancer and educator) who was diagnosed with acute leukemia in August,
2006. Liza is still battling this disease at MD Anderson Cancer Center
in Houston, accompanied by her partner, Tabla Rasa co-founder Jim
Santi Owen. The $20 minimum donation at the door goes toward the Liza
Matlack "How to Live!" fund to help cover medical, travel, caregiver,
and other related costs for her ongoing treatment.
