Weekly Meditation: Receiving
Description:
Let-go of complaining. Complaining is a desire-obsessed attitude. Focus on what
you receive. Even if it is only the smallest thing, just a particle of bliss,
pay attention. Be mindful of it. Isn't this what you would like to see grow?
Nurture, keep remembering, rejoice in it again and again.
When and Where:
When you talk about the ray of happiness inside of you, you are also giving
the other person an opportunity to search for the same in their life. When you
bring news of happiness it grows, and waves of joy will start rolling in the
other person's heart too.
Benefits:
You will be surprised: the more you remember and rejoice, the more it will keep
on growing. And tell others about what you have received, because then your
perceptions become more manifest and clearer to you too.
Weekly Meditation: Death:The Greatest Fiction
Description:
Why are we so much afraid of death? We are afraid because we have not lived.
We have been missing life and death is coming. When you are really living there
is no fear of death. Life and death are deeply involved in each other. There
are many forms of death. Love is one of them.
When and Where:
Each moment of each day, look to see how you can be more alive, more in-the-moment,
more joyful. The activity doesn't matter - just the quality of your presence
with the activity. The more you befriend life, the more you allow yourself to
love deeply, the more your fear of death will disappear.
Benefits:
We are here to experience outrageous joy. The more you can face the mystery
of death, look deeply into it, the more you understand it. Death is the greatest
mystery - more mysterious than life, because life is just a journey toward death.
Only those who are in love with death are able to know what life is. Then you
are blessed with the benediction of living each moment with courage, purpose
and joy.
Weekly Meditation:
Two Kinds of Love
Description:
There are two kinds of love: need-love and gift-love. The need-love depends
on another person; it is immature love. We become mature the moment we start
giving rather than needing. With the first the emphasis is on how to get more.
With the second the emphasis is on how to give more.
When and Where:
First understand yourself, allowing the need-love and the gift-love. Over time,
as we mature, the need-love transforms into gift-love. Then love is not a relationship,
it is a state of being.
Benefits:
As our dependency for need-love lessens, we become more deeply rooted in ourselves.
We learn the difference between loneliness and aloneness. Loneliness is absence
of the other. Aloneness is the presence of oneself.
Weekly Meditation:
Wait Rightly
Description:
A haiku by 17th century Japanese poet Basho: Moonlit plum tree Wait, Spring
will come In a very indirect way, in a very delicate way, Basho says, "Moonlit
plum tree...." Don't be in a hurry.
When and Where:
"Wait, spring will come." It is metaphoric. It is about you, not about
the plum tree. Just wait, everybody has their own spring.
Benefits:
If you rightly wait, the spring can come right now. It depends on the depth
of your waiting.
