Dear Friends,

If you have been reading my blogs or receiving our newsletter, you know that I have been encouraging you to continue with your vacation plans to Thailand and other Tsunami affected countries if you had already been planning to vacation there.

I just wanted to reaffirm that idea. While watching the news this morning there was a feature on some of the areas in Thailand (my home country) where hotels in unaffected areas of Phuket and Kho Phi Phi had less than ten people staying at them. These hotels had a staff of over 200 employees each, and the managers of these hotels were trying desperately to find a way to keep from laying off the staff.

Remember, these were areas that were NOT affected by the Tsunami at all, even though they were on Phuket and Koh Phi Phi, maybe only a few miles away from areas that were affected. When disasters like this happen, it is strange how one area can be devastated, while another area only a few miles away can be untouched.

So if you are planning on going to Thailand (or one of the other affected countries) remember that not ALL beaches in those areas were affected, and that the locals need you to spend time there now more than ever. Be sure to talk to a GOOD travel agent who is in contact with the hotels in the area on a daily basis, so that they know which areas you can visit.

Thanks again for your time.

Ms. Jay
