Travel Info

Dear Friends,

I wanted to take a moment to remind everyone that would like to travel to Asia, but are unable to for various reasons, that there are many Thai Buddhist temples right here in the USA.

Yes, I know it is not the same as actually going to Thailand. On the other hand, it could help provide a glimpse into Thai life, culture and religion that you won't get just from reading books or watching television.

To find out if there is a Thai temple located near to you, please visit our Thai Temples page at:

http://www.siamese-dream.com/reference/thai_temples.html

Usually there is SOMETHING happening at the temples on most Sundays, so we advise you to CALL AHEAD and see if the temple will be open to the public and if everyone is welcome. Please note that some temples focus primarily on meditation, so if you visit you will most likely be expected to partake in the meditation classes, or at least be very quiet so as not to disturb any of those practicing.

If you go, let us know what you think. Also, if you know of any other temples that aren't listed on our site, please send us an email at jay@siamese-dream.com so that we can add them to our list.

Thanks again,

Ms. Jay
