Hi All Indian Music Lovers - and those who just have hearts filled with compassion!
I wanted to let you know about another Tsunami Benefit concert in the San Francisco Bay Area. This will be held at the Jewish Community Center in San Rafael on February 17th. (The JCC is not far away from the Civic Center.)
The concert features Alam Khan on Sarode, Debashish Chaudhuri on Tabla, Sukhawat Ali Khan on Sufiana Kalam, Ferhan Qureshi on Tabla,
Ganesh Kumar on Kanjira, and the well known group Tabla Rasa, which is a well-respected Tabla ensemble.
There will also be special performances by Yair Dalal on Oud and by Charlotte Moraga of the Chitresh Das Dance Company. All in all, it will be a GREAT evening for anyone who enjoys classical Indian music or wants to help aid those affected by the Tsunami.
You can buy tickets at our Siamese Dream Stores in San Rafael and Berkeley. This concert is being put on by the Ali Akbar College of Music in conjunction with Bansuri's Spring Gallery,
San Francisco World Music Festival,
and a few other local organizations.
There is a $25 suggested donation for the event, but if you want to pitch in more, then it is always welcomed. The show begins at 7:30 pm and the Jewish Community Center is located at 200 N. San Pedro Rd in San Rafael, CA (go to Map Quest and look up the address to get a map).
You can also call (415) 444-8000 for more info, or call us at siamese Dream at (415) 453-4203 for more info as well.
Hope to see you there.
Ms. Jay
