This Lakshmi statue stands 18 Inches high and measures 7 Inches wide, a size that if very fitting for the Goddess of Fortune and Wealth. Lakshmi is seen seated on a throne with her left hand in the mudra (hand gesture) of bestowing a gift, blessing or wealth on humanity. In her two top hands she holds Lotus Blossoms (a symbol for purity in Hinduism) and her body is adorned with jewels.

Lakshmi is the wife of Lord Vishnu, who has ten incarnations on earth (known as avatars). In each of those earthly incarnations, Lakshmi is incarnated as his wife.
This Lakshmi Statue is made out of polished brass, and is fairly heavy (about 25 pounds), so you might want to set these statues on a solid altar table, or on the ground. Because they are a polished brass, you can actually keep these statues outside, such as in a garden, and you won't have to worry about the material changing colors. Although for outside use we do suggest using some protective oils on the brass from time to time to help keep the luster and shine of the statue.
