Ganesha T-shirts. This is a T-shirt from Thailand featuring an image of Lord Ganesha, the elephant headed God of Wisdom and Success. He is believed to oversee auspicious beginnings and can remove obstacles. These shirts can be machine washed in cold water, but should be turned inside-out when washed.
Ganesha is one of the sons of Siva, and his elephant head is a symbol of his immense wisdom. He holds an ax in one hand, which symbolizes severing man's attatchment to material desire. He holds a lotus blossom in another hand, a symbol for having a pure heart.
Ganesha is believed to have inscribed the Mahabarata, one of the major Hindu religious works.
