New Lower Prices!!! Kali Statues : This is a mini statuette of Kali, the Hindu Goddess who represents the destructive power of time. She is known for destroying ignorance, and she helps those who strive for knowledge of God. Her name means "The Black One" and the city of Calcutta is named in her honor. She is fearsome in appearance. She has wild eyes, a protruding tongue, and she wields a bloody sword. She also holds the severed head of a demon, and she wears a belt of severed heads.
In Hindu mythology, the gods could not kill a demon who was attacking heaven and earth. Each time they cut at the demon with their swords. each drop of blood that hit the ground would turn into another demon.
The gods asked Kali for help, who unraveled her huge tounge so she could lap up every drop of blood before it hit the ground. Drunken by the blood of the demon, Kali began hew own killing spree. She didn't end it until her husband, Shiva, sacrificed himself at her feet.
